Pantanal’s Women-Led Project

The Arara Azul Project, a women-led initiative by biologist Neiva Guedes, is dedicated to the conservation of Pantanal’s iconic Hyacinth Macaw. Recognized by UN Women, Neiva began protecting the species in 1990 which helped to see it removed in 2014 from Brazil’s endangered list, and its IUCN status improved. Guests at Caiman Ecological Refuge can contribute through observation, research participation, and donations, promoting responsible travel and supporting environmental initiatives that preserve Brazil’s transformative Pantanal. Discover.

Women Who Explore

The 5-day Inca Trail is a profound journey through ancient paths, stunning landscapes, and personal discovery. For a shorter yet equally rewarding experience, the 2-day Inca Trail from KM 104 leads to Machu Picchu, which offers breathtaking views. Cultural experiences like visiting the Lamay Community offer a deeper connection to Andean traditions. In a male-dominated field, we proudly support hiring female guides, ensuring women can explore Latin America safely and confidently.
